Over five decades ago, Al Masaood began as a modest trading house in a nation just beginning to take shape. Abu Dhabi was its home, and like the country’s visionary forefathers who dreamed of a bright future for the UAE, the Al Masaood brothers wanted to be a part of this vision.
Al Masaood embarked on ventures that helped lay the foundations for progress. In 1970, alongside John Brown Engineering, they delivered the UAE’s first gas turbine. Recognising water as the lifeline of a nation, Al Masaood, in partnership with Weir Westgarth, built the UAE’s first desalination plant. Soon after, the Group ventured into the vital marine and logistics sectors, and later introduced the Japanese car brand Datsun to Abu Dhabi, paving the way for the capital’s mobility and transportation development.
As Abu Dhabi grew, so did Al Masaood, forging partnerships with leading global brands and venturing into industries that supported the nation’s advancement. Today, Al Masaood actively operates in most economic sectors in the UAE and across the Middle East.
